Vocabulary 4

Element:Abasic building block of matter ;a pure subtance that cannot be broken down into anything simpler.

Compound:A chemical combination of two or more elements into a single subtance.

Atom:The smallest unit of an element that still has the properties of the element.

proton:Aparticle with positive charge in the necleus of an atom.
Neutron:An uncharged particle in the necleus of an  atom.

Electron:Aparticle with a negative charge moving around the necleus of an atom.

Necleus:The dense center part of an atom.

Molecule:A group of morethan one atom joined together that acts like a single particle.

Vocabulary 3

Mass:The amount of matter in an object.
Volume:The amount of space an object takes up.

Weight:(On earth) a measure  of the force of gravity between Earth and an object.

Density:A measure of how tightly packed matter is;the amount of mass contained in a given volume.
Buoyancy:The upward push on an object by the liquid (or gas) the object is placed in.

Conduct:Alow heat or electricity to flow through readiy.

Insulate:Not allow heat or electricity to flow through readily.

Vocabulary 2

Electromagnetism:The production of magnetism by elctricity and the production of electricity and the production of electricity by  magnets.

Electromagnetic Spectrum:All the wavelengths of visible and invisible light in order from short (gamma rays) to long (radio).
Laser:A device that produces a thin stream light of just a few close wavelengths.

Vocabulary # 1

Prism: A cut piece of clear glass(or plastic) with 2 opposite sides in the shape of a triangle pr the other geometric shape.

spectrum: A band of colors produced when light goes through a prism.

primary color: red, green, or blue; mixing these colors can produce all the colors of the spectrum.

primary pigment: Magenta, cyan, yellow; material with any of these colors absorbs one primary color of light and reflects the other 2.

Album #1 Invisible Light

INTRODUCTION

The scientist has formed ideas of how light travels, the explines that light travels in tiny bundles of energy, the human eye pick up many photons of light in tiny and instant now we know that there wavelenghts of lights that we don´t see.Together these wavelenghts are called electromagnetic spectrum.

Radio Wave

Radio waves are a type of electromagentic radiation with wavelenghts in the electromagnetic spectrum longer than infrared light.Like all other electromagnetic waves, they travel at the speed light. Naturally-ocurring radio waves are made by lightning,or by astronomical objects.Radio waves is the longest wave of electromagnetic spectrum carry signals incodes(AM/FM)Radio stations use radio wave to carry sounds. When this signals are picked up by the radio or television, the produce the sounds and sights that you hear and see.

Microwaves

microwaves are electromagnetic waves with wavelenghts ranging from as long as one meter to as short as one millimiter. The energy from the asorbed microwaves speeds up the water molecules inside the food.Microwaves ovenscan heat many foods faster, using less energythan regular oven.Microwave:is the shorter radio waves.Water in food is asorbs microwaves radialy.

Infrared Ray
Infrared light is electromagnetic radiation with wavelenghtsare longer than that of visibe light.Infrared means "just beyond red" infrared wave are next to visible red wave in spectrum. All objects give off infrared waves, depending on their temperature.Special photographic film and electronic sensors can be used to detect infrared light.

Ultraviolet Ray
ultraviolet light is electromagnetic radiation with wavelenghts shorter than that of visible light.Ultraviolet light is made up of waves just shorter than visible violet in spectrum. It can produces vitamin D in your body. You need vitamin D for healthy bones and teeth.Ultraviolet light produce vitamin D in the milk.

Gamma Ray
Gamma radiation, also know as Gamma rays is electromagnetic radiation of hight frevuency(very shorter wavelength).Itis the shorter wavelengths of the spectrum.

X-Ray
X-raadiation (composed of X-rays)is aform of electromagnetic radiation.X rays can pass right through objects.Thicket or denser objects tend to absorb X rays.

Blue Ray
Blue ray is an optical disc storage medium designed to supersede the satndard DVD format. The name Blue-ray Diac derives from the "blue laser"used to read the disc.

Conclusion:I learn that were many types of rays and lght and how they work and how o important are and that some rays are invisible .
